I am ready to meet Raila - Uhuru

Uhuru said he is open to dialogue for the sake of the country.

However the President said he will only engage in dialogue centered on 'economic liberation' but not politics which he said had proven not to help in economic growth.

"As I have stated before, as President of all Kenyans, I am willing to engage all Kenyans and leaders, including my worthy competitors, irrespective of their religious or ethnic affiliation, in fashioning this paradigm shift," Kenyatta said during the Jamhuri Day celebrations at Kasarani Stadium.

Kenyatta said he was open to dialogue with his competitors for the sake of peace and national unity to help Kenyans as a whole.

“I reach out to all Kenyans to help achieve our common goal of peace, stability, and prosperity for all. It is our shared responsibility to work towards these ends, knowing we all have a role to play and we all must listen to one another,” he added.

Odinga is on record saying that said that NASA was willing to dialogue with the Government as long as it was about having a free and fair election and not a “private arrangement” between him and Kenyatta.

“Before engaging in dialogue, we must be clear what differences we are sitting down to resolve. Suggestions have been made that what is needed is a compromise between Jubilee and NASA. There are even those who see the crisis as nothing more than a personal feud between Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga that could be resolved by private arrangement. This view is mistaken,“ Odinga said during a past press conference.
