State House explains video of Ruto standing outside Bomas VIP room where Uhuru, Raila met

Here is what happened

DP William Ruto, President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga at Bomas of Kenya durig the presentation of the BBI report

State House spokesman Kanze Dena has come out to explain a viral video that captured Deputy President William Ruto standing outside a VIP room at the Bomas of Kenya where President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga were meeting.

The video went viral with claims that it proof that Ruto was being deliberately being humiliated and sidelined during the launch of the BBI report at the Bomas of Kenya.

In the 20 second video that went viral, Ruto is seen chatting with President Kenyatta’s bodyguards and aides presumably awaiting Odinga and Kenyatta to leave their meeting.

Kanze, however, claims that the footage was only a small part of a larger picture and that Ruto had indeed attended the meeting but only waited because he left first.

What surprised me is that the press did not highlight Ruto getting into that meeting and leaving first. The press created a perception without understanding the context. Give people the full picture so that they understand what happened and then they can reach the right conclusion,” the State House spokesperson stated.

Kanze insisted that the President and his deputy had a perfect working relationship.

However, a spot check by Pulselive.co.ke showed that in a footage captured by KTN, Raila entered the VIP room where he joined President Kenyatta alone.

The door was opened to Odinga by one of the President’s bodyguards who shortly after closed it, all through, Ruto could be seen standing outside the door. The KTN footage, does not show if there was a second meeting at the VIP room attended by the Deputy President.
