Court bans Office of the Director of Public Prosecution from tweeting about former Governor Evans Kidero court case

The Office of the Director of Public Prosecution (ODPP) has been barred from posting tweets on Former Governor Evans Kidero.

The ban imposed on Wednesday has specifically prohibited the public prosecutor's office from updating members of the public on the ongoing corruption suits against the former Nairobi Governor.

The latest tweets posted by DPP Noordin Haji's team outlined the expected proceedings of Dr Kidero's Wednesday hearing.

Some of the DPP's followers had raise concerns that the posts by the ODPP would affect the case which is yet to be decided by the court.

New evidence in case against Kidero

The ODPP revealed that a KCB Bank Manager Nkatha Mirero had provided bank statements that implicated Dr Kidero.

"A KCB Bank Branch manager today produced a bank statement showing that Lodwar Wholesalers Ltd transferred sh14 Million to former Nairobi City County Governor Evans Kidero for supply of sugar.

"Nkatha further confirmed to court that Lodwar Wholesaler Ltd & Nguruman Traders Ltd had accounts with KCB Bank Ltd whose signatories were John Githua Njogu & Grace Njeri Githua who are accused persons in the case," ODPP posted.

Kidero and 10 others are charged with conspiring to commit fraud which led to the loss of Sh213,327,300 at the Nairobi City County government between January 2014, & January 2016.
