CS Fred Matiang'i former spokesman Mwenda Njoka becomes Government Press CEO

Interior CS Fred Matiangi's former spokesman Mwenda Njoka has secured a new job at a government parastatal.

Mr Njoka will be the new Chief Executive Officer at the Government Press.

The former spokesman joined Government Press shortly after leaving the Interior Ministry in late 2018 without disclosing his particular role at the press.

The official announcement was released last week and Njoka has since assumed office.

Mr Njoka seems to have maintained his cautious approach to members of the media as he responded with: "I’m just taking over. Let me settle then I will talk to media later," when asked to comment on his new role.

The Government Press is in charge of printing all publications that are required for official government communication from any branch of the government.

Government Press also publishes the Kenya Gazette despite the shift of many government correspondence to the digital platforms.
