Matiang’i’s valentine surprise causes trouble for top government officials

Matiang'i surprise mission on Valentine's Day

CS Matiang’i makes impromptu visit at Narok birth certificates office, lectures officials over poor services

Interior CS Fred Matiang’i on Thursday made an impromptu visit to the Narok Registrar of Person offices where he put senior government officials on the spot over delays in issuance of birth certificates.

The CS, though clad in a red shirt to match the spirit of Valentine’s Day, was in no mood for playing games as he threatened to sack officials who were sabotaging locals.

The locals had earlier complained to the CS that the Narok office had not issued any new birth certificates since April.

The official in charge, however, claimed that they had been issuing about 200 birth certificates in a month.
