Ezra Chiloba ascended into power in the role of IEBC CEO in January 2015 after the suspension of James Oswago in August 2014.

The then IEBC Chairman Ahmed Issack Hassan gave him a glowing review and announced to all newsrooms that the young man was “the most successful candidate in the interview.” after beating out highly qualified candidates like Dickson Omondi, a governance expert and Erastrus Ethekon, a programme specialist at the United Nations Development Programme.
