Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto.

According to the latest poll by Infotrak, Governor Isaac Ruto is on a neck to neck battle with National Assembly Deputy Speaker and Sotik MP Joyce Laboso.

If elections were held today, Governor Ruto would garner 38.9% of the vote while Laboso would get 37.6%.

Former Konoin MP Julius Kones will come a distant third with 7.3%.

If the latest poll is anything to go by, the race tight race will prove a headache for Ruto since both Laboso and Kones are from the same Jubilee camp.

Commanding lead

Should Laboso win the upcoming Jubilee Party primaries and Kones decides not to jump ship, then the Deputy Speaker will have a commanding lead over the incumbent.

However the race can still go either way as a large population (16.1%) remain undecided according to the Infotrak poll.

In the battle for the county woman's representative, Joyce Korir leads the pack with 20.7% while Cecilia Ngetich would garner 13.2% , Alice Milgo 8.3% and Cecilia Mutai 3.9%.

The poll comes barely hours after fresh details emerged a new deal between Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto and the National Super Alliance of Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetang’ula.

With less than four months to go, Ruto said that his Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) party will enter into a pre-election deal with Nasa that will likely eat away into his former ally now turned bitter foe Deputy President William Ruto’s popularity in the Rift Valley.
