Uhuru's message to Sonko after Polycarp Igathe's resignation
Igathe's resignation caught Sonko and Jubilee leaders by surprise.
A source, who spoke to a local daily, disclosed that Sonko called the Head of State to inform him of Igathe's decision and the two are said to have talked for a lengthy period."Sonko is a personal friend to President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto. They talked at length. Uhuru urged Sonko to focus on service delivery,” the source was quoted by the Star.
Since Igathe's resignation, the Governor has been silent and only updated his facebook status with a gospel song 'Najua' by Eunice Njeri also promising to issue a comprehensive statement on the matter. Meanwhile, Kenyatta was on a 3-day visit to South Africa when Igathe resigned.
