County Finance boss Vincent Masawi said that a majority of the county employees would not get their salaries on time as the IFMIS system had broken down, affecting most of the departments.
Earlier this year, Taita Taveta faced a similar issue after the April salaries were delayed by more than three weeks without an explanation.

Since the implementation of devolution, county employees have often had to bear with delayed salaries, sometimes missing salaries for up up to six months due to poor coordination between the counties and the national government.
