The DPP through a tweet, late Sunday, called on members of the public who could positively identify the woman to provide the details to the body to commence prosecution.

“Calling on the public to provide details of this incident that is, perpetrator, location and date to inform appropriate action by the Office of Public Prosecution, DPP,” reads the tweet seen by this writer.

In the video, a woman is seen clobbering and pushing the man, who evidently looks drunk, pushing him to pay an undisclosed amount of money.

The woman beats up the man against the wall and steps on his chest mercilessly, without the intervention of onlookers, who instead filmed the scene.

Similar incident

The new video surfaced few days after a similar nasty incident in which a Daudi Nzomo was filmed clobbering his wife Ms Winfred Mwende, on July 30 at Kyaaka village in Makueni County, on accusations of infidelity.

When Nzomo was presented to court, he pleaded guilty to a charge of causing grievous harm to his wife.

The prosecutor, Ms Eunice Gitau, sought one week to get a report on Mr Nzomo’s criminal history.

The magistrate, Mr James Mwaniki, allowed her to file the report as well as a victim impact assessment.

The court ordered Nzomo to be remanded at Makueni Police Station until Wednesday, August 8, when he will be sentenced.

The suspect was arrested in Nguuni, Kibwezi West Constituency on Thursday while on the run after the video of him viciously beating up his wife went viral.
