Police arrests gang terrorizing passengers along Thika Superhighway

The gang has been robbing innocent passengers

According the Ruiru OCPD James Ng’etich,  the gang have been operating in specific Matatus.

Before the arrest police had warned passengers along the superhighway, to avoid vehicles with the following registration numbers;

The three suspects arrested are Alfred Macharia Mungai who was posing as a driver, Samwel Kamau Wanyoike, the conductor and Charles Omondi Opundo whose role was to identify potential targets.

Police managed to ambush them in an operation where one police officer posed as a commuter.

“These are people who are armed with crude weapons, knives and we don’t rule out whether they have firearms but the complainants who have come out some of them have been injured using crude weapons,” said OCPD Ng’etich.
