President Uhuru Kenyatta is mourning a senior member of his security team - Chief Inspector of Police Pius Kipserem Cheboswony.

In a statement to newsrooms, President Uhuru announced that Cheboswony had passed on Monday in a grisly motor accident along Oljororok-Dundori Road in Nyandarua County.

Until his death, Cheboswony headed the security team at Sagana State Lodge and had been in the police service for a total of 28 years.

In his message, the President said the country had lost a highly dedicated security officer whose commitment endeared him to both his colleagues and superiors.
