Danny was born and bred in a strict Akorino family,but he later removed his headscarf and converted to another denomination, a move that put him at crossroads with the members of his family for more two years.
He started singing professionally in 2008 in a trio gospel group called Fisher of men, which later split in 2010 after section of the group members felt like they were being dragged down behind by others.

However it was until 2012 that Danny Gift officially debuted in the showbiz scene after he emerged as one of the finalist at a reality television show dubbed the Exodus, a singing competition aired by the national broadcaster.
