Former youth fund boss cum businessman Evans Gor Semelang’o has been appointed as an advisor at the Global stage for the Commonwealth Security group Head quartered in Westminster, London.

Mr. Semelang’o shared the good news via his social media pages, stating that it is a huge privilege and honour to work with the Commonwealth Security Group.

“As I accept the role of a Senior Adsivor at the Global stage for the Commonwealth Security group Head -quartered in Westminster, London,I can only Thank God for his favour and blessings.It's a huge privilege and an honour and a great responsibility to take on this job and I will do it with everything I have to the best of my ability.May God grant me the Grace,humility and Wisdom as I meet various Commonwealth Heads of states and Governments in the line of Duty. 2019 is my Year.#blessed #humbled#greatful shared Gor Semeleng’o.

Gor, who is the Founder and Managing Director of PetroKenya Oil. Co.Ltd, holds a Master’s Degree from the Utrecht University in Netherlands.

He has been active in youth matters, having served as the chairman of the National youth council steering committee.

Semelang'o at Youth Fund

In February 2014, Semelang’o was sacked by President Uhuru Kenyatta from the helm of the Youth Enterprise Fund through a gazette notice. He had served as the Chairman for exactly one year after being appointed by former President Mwai Kibaki in January 2013.

The President did not offer an explanation to Semelang’o's sacking, replacing him with music producer the late Bruce Odhaimbo. Semelang'o was among a group of youthful leaders who supported the re-election of Kibaki in 2007.

In 2013 Semelang'o was among the influential youths who volunteered to shield Kenyatta against ICC accusation.
