Rick Ross did this before leaving Kenya
After his electrifying performance at Carnivore, Nairobi, the Purple Lamborghini star’s flight was delayed for half an hour. His delay was on deliberate purpose as he was opening a chemotherapy ward at the Texas Cancer Centre along Mbagathi Road, Nairobi.
The rapper tagged along Kevin Mulei, the NRG radio owner, they headed to Texas Cancer Centre.
Fight against cancer
On arrival, Rick Ross was received by Dr Catherine Nyongesa, the CEO of the private facility. Dr. Catherine Nyongesa is the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Texas Cancer Centre (TCC), since the hospital was founded in 2010. She and one other co-founder started the facility as a nursing home where cancer patients could walk in for palliative services.
During the opening ceremony of the Texas Cancer Center Day Care in Nairobi, Rick Ross gave a speech and was quick to appreciate the efforts made to against fight cancer.
Hardly two months ago, Tanzanian King of pop Diamond Platnumz was in the facility.
Prior his arrival in Kenya, the ‘Love You Die’ heavy hitter sent a message to Kenyans via his social media. His message read:
“As i make my tour to Nairobi for my album launch,i will also Visit Texas cancer centre for a cancer awareness for a charity event on the 15th March.Am so delighted to be one of the cancer fighters..Please .Lets all meet there and support our beloved cancer patients." "Nitapokuwa Nairobi kwenya kwenye album yangu mpya ...pia nitatembelea Texas cancer centre kuwaona wagonjwa wa saratani tarehe 15 / 03 ikiwa ni siku ya kipekee ya kupigana na ugonjwa huo....Nafurahi kuwa mmoja wapo wa vita dhidi ya saratani....Tafadhali tukutane huko kwa Pamoja tuwasaidie ndugu zetu hao.”
