The 13-year old, who goes by the stage name Amani G, was spotted by a tourist while singing Alicia Keys’ hit song Girl on Fire and went on to upload the video clip.

Her voice mesmerized many including the 15-time Grammy Award winner Alicia Keys who even went on to upload the video clip describing the class eight pupil as a lovely soul.

Kenya’s recording label Pine Creek studios went ahead to sign and gave her a Ksh 2.5 million deal. In the song, the young Amani sings that she knows her day to get out of the ghetto life will come and she will get wings to fly high but she will not forget those who helped her along the way.
