6 die in grisly accident

Six people have died in a grisly accident along the Kericho-Kisumu Road.

Reports reaching Pulselive.co.ke indicate that the accident involved a lorry and a saloon car at Chepseon.

According to area police, the two vehicles had a head on collision.

Further reports said that the occupants of the saloon car were members of the same family, some of whom were students going back to school.

Reduced accidents

This comes a few days after the Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinett thanked Kenyans for cooperating with the police to ensure there were reduced cases of accidents.

He also warned road users to exercise caution as they got into the New Year, urging drivers not to drive under the influence of alcohol.

However, as we prepare for the celebrations to usher in the New Year 2019, we call on our fellow compatriots as well as our visitors to exercise moderation as they enjoy themselves. We reiterate our demand that no one should drink and drive as they risk endangering their own lives as well as those of other innocent road users,” said Boinett.
