Anne Waiguru denies asking for a third of Mithika Linturi, Marianne Kitany matrimonial property

Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has denied asking for a share of the wealth held by Meru Senator Mithika Linturi and his estranged wife Marianne Kitany.

Waiguru’s spokesperson responded after city lawyer Donald Kipkorir made a light comment on Twitter, suggesting the Governor had demanded for a third of the couple’s property after Kitany confessed that their love started while she was convincing Linturi to drop an impeachment motion against the former Devolution CS.

On instructions from @AnneWaiguru, we place on notice Mithika Linturi and Marianne Kitany that as my client’s matter ignited their romance leading to marriage, our client shall claim 1/3 of their matrimonial property. Be guided appropriately,” said Mr Kipkorir on Twitter Wednesday.

Waiguru’s spokesperson, however, clarified that Kipkorir was only making a light comment as he was not an advocate to the Kirinyaga county boss.

Kipkorir is not madam’s lawyer, and she hasn’t asked him to make such an application. When I showed the governor that tweet, she just laughed and said that, maybe, the lawyer is just joking, or seeking virality. However, I can confirm that Ms Mumbi hasn’t made such a request,” Waiguru’s spokesperson was quoted by K24.
