Confirming the incident, area Police Boss Alex Shikondi said that the suspect engaged the wife over cash he had given her to purchase maize flour but she did not.
According to Nation, the suspect followed the woman with the two sons to his brother’s house where he killed them, before fleeing.
"Following the quarrel, the suspect's wife prepared food for the family in a hurry and took off to her brother-in-law's house in the neighbourhood to take refuge together with the children," Nation quoted Shikondi.

A search party for the suspect is ongoing.
Elsewhere, a 32 year –old man in Nyandarua County hacked his two sons to death, before committing suicide.
Reports reaching Pulse Live indicate that the man hacked his eight and six year’s old sons to death following a domestic dispute.
