Kabogo was among the thousands who thronged the facility demanding to see the body of the deceased, raising fears of a stampede.

A voice is heard hailing his actions and claiming that the former Governor had taken up the role of the police to control the crowd.
Reports indicate that De Mathew’s fans began arriving at the facility from as early as 6 AM.
It took close to thirty minutes to control the crowd befoe the body was moved to Githambia Primary School in Murang’a for the funeral service.

Among leaders present for the funeral ceremony are; Murang'a Women Rep, Sabina Chege, CSs Joe Mucheru (ICT), Mwangi Kiunjuri (Agriculture), James Macharia (Transport), former Jubilee Vice Chairman David Murathe, and former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth.
