Thank you Mr President – Joho surprises Uhuru with unique message

Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan has surprised president Uhuru Kenyatta after sending him...

Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and President Uhuru Kenyatta

Joho alleged that the harassment by police was giving him more popularity thanks to the dubious tactics Jubilee had deployed to fight him.

The Governor, who was speaking after being attacked by GSU officers in Kinango, Kwale County on Thursday, noted that he was shocked and saddened by the turn of events.

“This Jubilee administration has yet again shown that it does not and will not respect the law of the land. That the sanctity of the document they swore to uphold and defend before millions of Kenyans is nothing but a piece of paper to them,” Joho stated.

The Governor Called on IPOA officers to investigate the incident stating that it could have been politically motivated.

“We demand that IPOA Independent Police Oversight Authority, review the circumstances and chain of command surrounding this incident and prosecute the legal violations.

"I would like to remind this regime, that freedom once won cannot be reversed. That repression is a tool of the unenlightened. That history is littered with far worse examples of repression that have all fallen,” Joho said.

He also welcomed Jubilee in Mombasa where they’re expected to hold a rally at Mvita grounds on Sunday whereas ODM will hold their parallel rally at Tononoka grounds.

“We welcome the Jubilee rally at Mvita grounds. That is a true show of democracy. Let them hold their rally and we hold ours," the ODM deputy party leader said.

Joho’s rally was on Thursday disrupted by police officers who said they had not been informed prior to the function.
