Residents of Mukuru Kayaba Slums in South B, (Nairobi) are counting loses after a huge fire destroyed their houses leaving several families homeless on Thursday night.

The fierce fire swept through the Mukuru Kayaba informal settlements (Slums), with properties of unknown value going up in flames as residents battled to contain the fire that was spreading rapidly.

Kenya Redcross and the Nairobi County Fire Brigade were among the first to rush to the scene to coordinate emergency rescue efforts.

The course of the fire is still unknown with no casualty reported so far.
