The deceased was reported missing for nine days when her body was discovered in her house decomposing in the kitchen in January this year.

Kenyenya OCPD Isaac Thuranira affirmed that investigations into the murder had begun as samples collected from the crime scene are still undergoing tests.

Controversy into Monchari’s death emerged after postmortem results showed that she might have been strangled to death, and her killer covering up the act by leaving a suicide note to allege that the lady had committed suicide.

Friends of the 22-year-old argued that the lover had tried to convince Chelegat to stay after he thought the lady was about to leave him for another man.

Neighbours of the deceased stated that they found the boyfriend standing over the dead body after they heard screams come from Chelegat's house.

The mob had managed to stop the suspect from taking his own life after committing the crime.
