Crowd goes wild after spotting Chiloba at funeral service

The crowd demanded Mr Chiloba to be given time to address them. This forced judge Kiage who was introducing the dignitaries to bow down to the pressure.

"We want Chiloba to address us. He is our son and we are proud of him he must be recognized in this village," the Standard quoted.

A report by the local paper indicates that when Chiloba took the stage the crowd cheered with excitement.

In his eulogy, Mr Chiloba remembered Ogeto as a generous man who helped underprivileged children in the village to access education. The embattled CEO added that Justice Kiage financially assisted him in his education.

"My family was poor. It was a big burden to raise fee and I used to receive financial support from justice Kiage. I have a personal respect for this family," he was quoted as saying.

The burial which took place at Karaus village in Trans Nzoia County was attended by top judicial officers including  Chief Justice David Maraga.

The crowd cheered louder when Mr Chiloba greeted CJ Maraga at the burial.

Chiloba was sent home on a three month compulsory leave by IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati to facilitate investigations of all the major procurements relating to the 2017 General Election and repeat poll,

His suspension caused an uproar at the Electoral Body with three commissioners resigning, a move said to be in solidarity with Chiloba.

The trio Consolata Nkatha (also the IEBC Vice Chair), Margaret Mwachanya, and Paul Kurgat said they had no confidence in Chebukati and accused him of poor leadership.
