The demolitions began on Saturday morning

The owner of the iconic Taj Mall (Airgate Mall) Ramesh Gorasia has spoken for the first time after demolition of the building commenced on Saturday morning.

Mr. Ramesh who spoke to journalists condemned the demolition saying that those who approved it for construction must be investigated.

He went ahead and said that he got approvals for construction of Taj Mall in 1995 which he has renewed seven times.

All I will say is that it is wrong to demolish this mall that people purportedly say was built on a road reserve,” said Ramesh who had documents he claimed showed he followed the right processes to construct the Airgate Centre.

According to Citizen TV, Ramesh Gorasia insisted he was not at fault and called on the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) to probe county officials who approved the construction.

His words comes hours after the government officially started demolition of Taj Mall.
