The roads that will be affected are: Uhuru Highway, Kenyatta Avenue, Harambee Avenue, Bunyala Road, Lusaka Road, Haile Selassie and Waiyaki Way.
During a media briefing by organizers of the event, the authorities confirmed that the roads will be cordoned off at 11pm on Saturday and again at 4 am on Sunday.
"Traffic on Uhuru Highway will be interrupted from 11pm on October 26, 2019 which is a day before the StanChart Marathon," the traffic boss stated.
Commander Omukata gave 2pm on Sunday as the official time when the roads will be opened but disclaimed that the re-opening will depend on whether the races are concluded.
He further advised those who will need to get to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) for Sunday's flights to make arrangements factoring in the closure to avoid inconveniences.
The marathon is an annual event organized by the Standard Chartered Bank and partner organizations.
