Panic grips Kenyans after rumours of Leonard Mambo Mbotela’s death

Kenyans were shocked following the news of Mbotela's death.

Some media sites had already published news on Mbotela's death.

In the past week, the country have been plunged in a state of sadness following the deaths of four prominent personalities:Laikipia Senator G.G Kariuki, Interior Security Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery, Nicholas Biwott and Bethuel Kiplagat.

However it seems the reports on Mbotela's death were all false.

The veteran broadcaster on Saturday morning rubbished the claims of his death that had spread across social media.

"Nataka kuwafahamisha wasikilizaji wanaosikia saa hivi sasa na marafiki wangu na mandugu zangu wote popte walipo na wakubwa zangu pia kwamba mimi Leonard Mambo Mbotela ndiye anayezungumza sasa katika kwa radio.

"Niko hai na napumua kama kawaida na niko na nguvu zangu. Nashukuru Mwenyezu Mugu, Natumai anipe maisha marefu. BBC, Deutche Welle wamenipigia simu. Jameni ndugu zangu niko hai niko hai niko hai!"

I want to inform listeners, my friends and all my brothers that Leonard Mambo Mbotela who is speaking to you now is alive and well. I thank God that I am alive and may he grant me many more years. I have been called by BBC and DW regarding my health but I am alive! I am alive!" Mbotela affirmed.

Mbotela  added that he had forgiven who had started the rumours he had died in a road accident.
