Mathenge told the police that Wangui had confessed to him that she killed Mary by hitting her on the forehead with a pressure cooker, revealing the chilling details of what transpired on the fateful day and the frantic efforts to dispose the body and conceal the crime.
According to Mr. Mathenge’s account, Mary became bitter after she found her husband’s photos hanging on the wall of Wangui’s house at Fourways junction with furniture identical to those in their family home Safari Park Garden estate.
An irate Mary is reported to have demanded that Wangui surrenders the logbook of her car-a Mercedes Benz identical to hers, which according Mary had been bought by her husband Joseph Kori.
The argument resulted in a fight with the two women wrestling over a knife that was eventually recovered along with other evidence in a thicket in around Tatu city area.
In the course of the fight, Wangui reportedly rushed to the kitchen and grabbed a pressure cooker which she used to smash Wambui’s. She then proceeded to squeeze life out of her, strangling her to death.
She then wrapped the body in a bedsheet and placed it in the kitchen as she embarked on a frantic mission to dispose the body and clear evidence.

Wangui is reported to have called Mathenge to her residence at around 11 PM to help in disposing the body of the deceased.
Mathenge who owns a car hire company drove to Wangui’s house shortly after midnight in a Toyota registration series KCK.
Wangui appears to have had her plans well laid and according to Mathenge, she had even called earlier and promised him some work later in the night.
They both carried the body from the kitchen and placed it in the back of the deceased’s white Mercedes Benz and ferried it to Mugutha where the body was found on Sunday.
Mathenge mentioned in his confession that Wangui had contemplated plunging the car into the dam but changed her mind.
On Friday, Mathenge led the police to a thicket in Ruiru where they had dumped items used to dispose of the body. Clothes used to wrap the body and a knife were recovered. And taken for forensic examination.
The pressure cooker and a carpet that Mathenge told police was spread on the back seat of the deceased’s Mercedes car where they laid the body on their way to disposal was however missing.
Mary was killed in the house of Wangui, her husband Joseph Kori Karue’s mistress, on Saturday January 26 in what is suspected to have been a love triangle.
Investigations are still underway to establish the circumstances that led to the bizarre murder of the mother of two.
