Tom Odero, who is the Kwale Police Commander, confirmed that the raid was conducted in the morning and the criminals managed to flee before they could be apprehended.
"They will run but they cannot hide forever. We will smoke them out of their hideout," stated Odero.
The police boss explained that they had been trailing the group for a while and urged members of the public to aid the police with any information that would help them arrest the people.
"We appeal to the public for any information regarding suspicious people who have been living in an isolated house for some months now," remarked the Police Commander.
Police managed to recover item such as Islamic books, several items for assembling IEDs and a tear gas canister.
Man arrested for asking directions to Somalia
In another incident, a man identified as Backstone Agaro was arrested in Mandera County over asking for directions to Somalia.
Reports stated that officers apprehended Agaro over the suspicion he was an Al Shabaab spy inquiring for directions.
