Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has admitted that he pocketed and spent a donation of Ksh.200000 on 05 April 2019.

The Wiper party leader made the confession during a press briefing at the party’s headquarters in Nairobi on 11 April 2019.

Kalonzo revealed that the funds in question were a donation from a well-wisher in support of Embakasi South MP elect Julius Maathe who won on a wiper party ticket.

He revealed that the funds were in support of Mawathe’s bid to ensure that he retained the seat.

On that day however, the Wiper party boss could not trace Mawathe who was held up with voting underway and so he decided to keep the money and channel it to his own use.

"In fact, I have just made a confession. On the voting day itself, someone brought Ksh 200,000 ahakikishe Mawathe anashinda (to ensure that Mawathe wins the by-election).

"Na mimi kwa sababu siku Mawathe alikuwa ana randa randa kila polling station, nikaenda nikanunua mbegu (Mawathe was up and down at the polling stations, so I decided to use the money to buy seeds)," Kalonzo revealed.

Below is the video of Kalonzo’s confession.

The Wiper party candidate white washed ODM’s Irshad Sumra in the contest that saw NASA sibling rivalry come out.

Jubilee opted out of the race in the spirit of handshake and national unity with a section of Jubilee politicians led by Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria backing Mawathe in the contest.

He garnered 21,628 votes to defeat ODM’s Irshad Sumra who got 7,988 votes.
