Kenya has been ranked as the third most preferred travel destination by the High Net-Worth Individuals (NHWI) in the continent.

According to the Afrasia New World Wealth report released on Monday, Kenya hosted 4,000 multi-millionaires last year and only South Africa (15,000) and Morocco (5,000) beat the East African economic powerhouse.

Kenya tied in third position with Botswana.

The report refers multi-millionaires are individuals with net assets of Sh1 billion ($10 million).

Preferred hot-stops

Maasai Mara and Nairobi remained the most preferred spots for the super-rich going on holiday, the survey said due to the safari experiences that both places have on offer.

Kenya is one of the top destinations in Africa for tourism and safaris.

The diversity of wildlife in Kenya is simply astounding and is well renowned worldwide.

Kenya’s game parks, reserves and other wildlife protection areas host some of the wildest and unique game thus the reason why it is known as the home for the safari.

Last month, Kenya was been listed among the top global destinations for super-rich Africans seeking to buy a second home, according to a released wealth report, offering insight into the continued rise in prices of luxury homes in Nairobi and the coast.

Property consultants Knight Frank made the finding in its latest Wealth Report, which says that prime residential houses in Nairobi are currently priced at $800,000 (Sh82 million) or more.

“Interestingly, Kenya is among the top-five most popular second-home locations for Africa’s ultra-high-net-worth individuals,” Knight Frank said in the report.
