The 52-year old has had a stellar career as a journalist spanning over two decades. He has worked for renowned media giants such as CNN, Reuters TV, NBC among others.
Koinange, a University of New York graduate, has indeed cemented his reputation as one of the most accomplished journalists of our time.
Business Insider SSA profiles how the popular Tv news anchor makes and spends his money:
How he makes his money
Koinange has one of, if not the, best pay packages of a journalist with reports saying he earns Sh2 million ($20,000) per month.
This being attributed to his profession as a news anchor at privately-owned Citizen Tv. He also doubles up as a radio breakfast show host on Hot 96, both which are owned by Royal Media Services.
The Jeff Koinange Live host (a talk show on Citizen Tv) recently sought to be candid about his financial status declaring that he is worth Sh50 million ($500,000).
How he spends his money
Koinange, hugely characterized by a popular phrase, "its smoking", cruises the streets of Nairobi in a Mercedes Benz G-class ride that has a factory invoice of over Sh 10 million before tax.
He lives in Kitisuru, a posh suburb in Nairobi, together with his lovely wife Shaila and son Jamal Mbiyu. Much of his family life is however kept out of the public domain.
Also in his possession is an original Partagas Series D Cuban Cigars estimated to cost of Ksh 500,000.
His wrist boasts a Breitling for Bentley watch held in place by a crocodile skin strap which costs a fortune. Such is his love for time pieces that he even had no qualms getting his radio co-host Jalang'o a Sh1.3 million watch.
Not to forget the expensive designer suits he dons when he graces our screens.
And how about this for a killer cowboy look....
When he is not working, Koinange spends time with his family at some of the most exotic destinations.
