A county government in Kenya has appointed a 65 year old woman to head its Youth Ministry—and Kenyans are baffled
Talk about irony.
Nyeri county government named Sheila Githaiga as the Minister for Youth in the county despite the fact that her age has been the subject of debate since her nomination.
Kenyans took to Twitter and gave their mixed reactions which were a clear expression of the utter disbelief in her appointment:
Ms Githaiga has since termed the calls over her age as unnecessary adding that she has experience spanning over 40 years in government, the United Nations and as an executive director in various NGOs.
