Kenyans have been keenly waiting for the announcement of the Presidential winner in the just-concluded polls.

The Bomas of Kenya, which is the nerve centre for the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, has been a bee-hive of activities since Friday with preparations in top-gear for the announcement of the President-elect.

Dignitaries, key government officials, business men and other accredited people have been streaming in in readiness for the big announcement from the electoral body.

Now, even as preparations go on, BBC Africa tweeted a photo of an old, dilapidated pick up that was ferrying in the red carpet for the dignitaries at the Bomas of Kenya.

The state of the orange pick up was rather embarrassing given the high-end vehicles present at the venue.

In a bid to cover-up the situation, a twitter user by the name @droid254 photo shopped the car to be a bit 'more appealing':

To which BBC Africa later on acknowledged the ‘correction’ and tweeted the story afresh:
