Raila makes surprise revelation on Uhuru's win while addressing US leaders

The NASA leader was giving his keynote speech at the CSIS in Washington DC

Opposition leader Raila Odinga has made a rather surprise revelation about President Uhuru Kenyatta while addressing members of the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS).

Raila, who is on an official trip to the country, stated that the US is among countries that did not congratulate President Uhuru Kenyatta after being declared winner of the Oct 26 repeat election.

He made the revelation adding that it gave him hope in his quest to seek for fresh polls in the country.

The NASA leader was giving his keynote speech dubbed "Overcoming Kenya’s Political Crisis and Advancing Democracy, Rule of Law, and Stability" to members of the CSIS in Washington DC.

In the speech, Raila highlighted why he withdrew from the October 26 re-run while outlining his next steps as well as offering his prognosis for Kenya’s democratic health, peace, and stability.

He also took a swipe at the foreign envoys who he accused of sanitizing an "already flawed election."

"I have come to Washington to convey a simple message. The foreign envoys efforts have been futile. They have sometimes contributed to the problem."
