Uganda's President ingenious comparison that will ensure no Ugandan ever haphazardly cuts down a tree

President Yoweri  Museveni knows the power of nudity especially in drumming up support for public good.

Seeing one’s mother undressing is akin to a curse and believed to bring bad luck and great misfortunes.

Therefore for centuries elderly African women when disappointed or highly disrespected usually threaten to strip and curse the offender, that is their last card to salvage their dignity and seek redress.

And it seems Uganda’s President Yoweri  Museveni knows the power of nudity especially in drumming up support for public good.

While commissioning the Lirima Large Gravity Water Flow Scheme, which will ensure over 78,000 people in Namisindwa, Manafwa and Tororo districts have access to clean water, the 73 year old leader had some advice to Mt. Elgon residents to ensure they will conserve the water catchment areas .

“However, I urge the people around Mt Elgon to desist from cutting the forests on the mountain slopes. The earth is our mother and the environment the clothing. Every time we destroy the environment, we are undressing our mother and this brings bad luck.” He tweeted.

Uganda has already lost two-thirds of its forests in the last 20 years and could have lost all of its forested land by 2050, which would have severe repercussions for its poorest people according to environmentalists.

Deforestation has already seen Uganda's 5 million hectares (12.3 million acres) of forest in 1990 dwindle to 3.5 million by 2005.

And so if Ugandans are fully aware of the repercussions which is sure to befalls them should they keep on undressing their mother, they better heed Museveni’s advice.

Failure to which they can be sure of bad luck and great misfortunes be failing them in the form of dangerous landslides which would bury them along with all their properties alive.

Devastating drought sweeping across their farming fields burning every plant on its part and reducing the green Mt.Elgon into a bowl of hot dust.

Massive floods when it rains washing and drowning everything on its part and depositing the remains at the depths of Lake Victoria.

Me think it is much better and safe if they just heed Museveni’s advice or what do you think?
