Kenyan Innovator In the race to win prestigious Innovation prize worth $185,000
IPA is a prestigious prize offered by African innovation foundation (AIF) to celebrate African innovators.
Peris Borise, co-founder of farm drive is among the top ten nominees for the innovation prize for Africa (IPA) 2017.
Ms bosire is among innovators from nine African countries short-listed for their outstanding innovations across healthcare, engineering, energy and communications sectors.
“Given the instrumental role African women play in transforming Africa, it is thrilling to see more women among the 10 nominees with game changing innovations” said AIF board chairman Water Fust during the announcement last week.
FarmDrive, is a mobile-based app that collects data and provides an alternative risk assessment model for small holders farmers in the country.
Individuals interested in farming and who while finding agriculture profitable have no time for the venture can easily connect with farmers looking for money to expand their activities using FarmDrive.
Unlike other solutions available in the market which are either Android-based, FarmDrive is built on a Responsive Web Design (RWD) aimed at crafting websites to provide an optimal viewing experience.

Ms Bosire will be battling for the top price with other innovators from Uganda, Zimbabwe, DR Congo, Egypt, Liberia, Morocco, South Africa and Nigeria.

The winner wins a grand prize of $185,000 (Sh19 million) and incentives to spur growth and prosperity in Africa through home grown solutions.
