Key government officials among them Information CS Joe Mucheru and Industrialization, Trade and Cooperatives CS Adan Mohamed and several heads of businesses were in attendance.
Speaking during the launch, Amb. Amina thanked the university of Nairobi for organising the event saying it would go along way in transforming Kenya into the silicon valley
"This strategic collaborations is essential in the realization of our desire of transforming our country into the silicon valley of our continent, there is great promise in Kenya for innovations and the government is ready to support this endeavor"
The week-long launched in 2015 is an annual event held to celebrate local and international innovations, and seeks to addresses key issues in innovation management and building Kenya's innovation Eco-system.
It is organised by Dr. Tonny Omwansa Director C4DLab, University of Nairobi & Chairman Innovation Week, local companies and government-run industries under the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Cooperatives.
During this year's event, over 120 exhibitors, 35 side events, 100 pitches and 15 most promising startups had a chance to showcase their products and services.
