According to reports, he will be buried at 4 pm at Allidina cemetery next to Coast General Hospital.

Mahmoud Mohammed who lived in Mombasa was ailing with stroke and heart-related issues was bed-ridden into the last days.

Mohammed played for Kenya during the Gossage Cup in the late 1970's alongside Joe Kadenge, Jonathan Niva, William Chege Ouma and late James Sianga.

He has been branded as one of the best Goalkeepers Kenya has ever produced alongside Mahmoud Abbas aka Kenya One.

He played his first game in Zanzibar Tanzania in the East African Challenge at the age of 23 before joining the national team at the African Cup of Nations tournament in 1972 which was held in Cameroon.

Mahmoud was privileged to visit many countries including Germany where he stayed for one and half months while playing against different teams.

He joined the work force in 1974 at Casaruna resort and later other major resorts around Kenya. He traveled to the Middle East and stayed there until 1999 when he returned home.

In 2005, he suffered a heart attack and later on in 2014 got a stroke that paralyzed his left side.
