A Ruracio is usually held in order for the parents of the girl to officially accept a marriage proposal before the couple holds their traditional wedding ceremony or church wedding. And in Risper’s case Brain Muiruri’s family coughed up a staggering amount for their future daughter-in-law, 2.5 Million shillings.

When asked about her bride price Risper told Word Is“I wasn’t there for the negotiations so I wouldn’t know but he (Brian) told me 2.5 Million Kshs.”
