Others who have grown under his wing include the current king of Genge Mejja, Pilipili, Juacali and the late Lady S. Calif Records were the originators of the Kenyan hip hop genre Genge that seem to strangely stand the test of time in the age of Trap music and Afro-pop. Echoing an earlier statement by Clemmo that Genge has a lifespan as it still has a local and international appeal.

"I strongly believe Genge is irresistible both locally and abroad. We don’t force fans to love our music, they do it out of their own will because they can’t help but ‘eat’, ‘sleep’ and ‘drink’ Genge." he told Pulse Magazine.

Aside from being a producer Clemmo recently got a  premium partnership programme with YouTube under a programme called Ngomma that enables artistes to post their videos on You Tube and monetise them.

News reaching us is that a tragedy has befallen this legend. Clemmo’s mum passed away last Tuesday and a funeral fundraiser was held yesterday at the All Saints Cathedral ahead of the burial later this week.

Artistes like Dufla , Juacali and the Grandpa Records have been rallying behind Clemmo to give Clemmo’s mum a fitting send-off through the hash tag #togetherletsstandwithclemmoandfamily.

Our hearts go out to Clemmos' family during this tragic time, may his mum R.I.P.
