Renowned singer and songwriter, Angelique Kidjo was crowned winner of the Best Global Music Album for her 'Mother Nature' music project released on June 18, 2021.

The singer had been pitted against Ghana's Rocky Dawuni, Nigeria’s Wizkid, Femi Kuti, Made Kuti and Daniel Ho & Friends. The win becomes the fourth time Angélique Kidjo has grabbed a Grammy award.

South Africa’s DJ Black Coffee won the Grammy for the Best Dance/Electronic Music Album for his album, Subconsciously.

The 64th annual GRAMMY Awards Show was scheduled to happen at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Mon, January 31, 2022, but the Recording Academy postponed it due to the outbreak of the Omicron variant of Covid-19.
