The African Giant had been pitted against Tanzania’s Harmonize, Nasty C (South Africa), Prince Kaybee (SouthAfrica), Teni (Nigeria) and Toofan (Togo) in the Best African Act category.
Harmonize was the only East African who had been nominated in this year’s MTV EMAs.
The Awards were held at FIBES Conference and Exhibition Centre in Seville, Andalusia, Spain, on November 3rd, 2019.

Previously, the Best African Act award had been won by; Diamond (2015), Tiwa savage (2018), Davido (2017) AliKIba (2016) and Sauti Sol (2014).
