1. Karun Mungai a.k.a Runkah

From the way she carries herself and the fact that she studied at high-end schools like Peponi and Brookhouse School, one can tell that this petite vocal powerhouse comes from a well-heeled family. In fact, her  dad is a close childhood friend to President Uhuru Kenyatta who attended Karun’s  listening party for her solo album launch at the Muthaiga Golf and Country Club in 2013.

Her mum Molly Mungai is the CEO and Creative Strategy Director at African Mystique Ltd while her dad, Eric Arthur Mungai is the C.E.O of Astral Mining Corporation and the Managing Director of property company Speedway Investments. He is the son of Evelyn Mungai Eldon, the Founder and Executive Director Evelyn College of Design.

2. Prezzo

Unlike most people on this list, Prezzo has never been shy about flaunting his family’s immense wealth, in fact, he audaciously calls himself ‘old money’. His late father Dr Morris Makini established the famous Makini Herbal Clinics among other Nairobi businesses which have funded Prezzo’s lifestyle. A lifestyle that helped him raise and set the showbiz bars and catapulted him and the Cash Money Brothers into fame.

So well-off was Prezzo that his first car in University was 2000 Porsche 911 Gemballa he drove into school that was a gift from his mum.  A car that was so stunning that even his lectures could not help but marvel and gawk at the fresher in a Porsche.

3. Kavi Pratt

I am sure you have spotted this young lady alongside Ngina Kenyatta.

The two are cousins and Kavi’s mum is Uhuru’s sister Kristina Kenyatta-Pratt who has acted as UNESCO’s Ambassador of the Visually Impaired for Africa. She also founded the Kenya Institute of Special Education (KISE) for training teachers who then educate those with hearing impairment, the blind and mentally handicapped.

Due to her work with the disabled, Kristina currently serves as the Chairperson of The National Fund for the Disabled.

4. Michelle Morgan

When Michelle Morgan made her debut on Citizen TV, many couldn’t help but  admire her beauty and grace. Her beauty and grace can be attributed to her English and Tanzanian roots as Tanzanian women are known for their faultless grace. Michelle is the daughter of the late Bob Morgan and former air hostess Cedar Morgan.

Her father Bob once served as a senior assistant commissioner of Kenya police in the 80’s before he founded a security firm you are all probably aware of, Bob Morgan Securities simply known as BM securities. A firm that was established to provide security in 1984 for the cast of "Out of Africa movie. It now one of the largest Kenyan security firms and has a lot of branches from Mombasa to Webuye to Nyeri and provides security for Telecommunication, Banking, Commercial, petroleum firms among others

5. Marcus Kibukosya a.k.a K'Cous

He is another member of Camp Mullah who was born with a silver spoon. His father is Gido Kibukosya and Suzanne Gachukia who divorced Gido and married Richard Opembe the Kenyan Ambassador to Ireland.

K’Cous’ grandma is the famous Dr Eddah Gachukia, founder and director of the Riara Group of Schools and Riara University. Eddah also founded FAWE (Forum for African Women Educationists). His Grandpa Ambassador Daniel Gachukia is known as Kenya’s longest serving Chief of Protocol and is currently the CEO and Chair of Riara Group of Schools

Away from his famous family K'Cous is known as a rapper and music producer who has produced a couple of famous hits.

6. Jeff Koinange

The SOMA awards nominee is known for his work at CNN and his self-titled show Jeff Koinange Live. He is also known as an Emmy and Peabody award winner. But despite his hard work to create a name for himself, Jeff actually doesn’t have to work a day in his life because he is the son of Frederick Mbiyu Koinange, son of Chief Mbiyu Koinange, a famous Kikuyu chief during colonial times.

Jeff is also related to the president because Jomo Kenyatta’s 3 wife Grace Wanjiku was the daughter of Senior Chief Koinange. Another famous relation of Jeff’s is the late billionaire Peter Mbiyu Koinange.

7. Adelle Onyango

Adelle Onyango’s mum was pretty influential before she passed away and her legacy still lives on through her daughter Adelle who is an ambassador for change especially when it comes to issues affecting the girl child, women empowerment and the toxic rape culture.

Her mum Mary Onyango who was known for her snazzy outfits was the vice chair of the National Cohesion & Integration Commission (NCIC).She was also a founding Member and Executive Director of the Kenya Breast Health Programme. Before joining NCIC as it’s vice chair she worked as a financial controller at the Agricultural Finance Corporation.

8. Deborah Sanaipei

The former Miss Tourism Kenya is the daughter to Former Cabinet Minister William Ole Ntimama. The late politician was known as one of the most powerful voices from the Maasai community and some even referred to him as the de facto leader of the Maasai.

He served as a Narok North MP for 25 years and a minister for the same amount of time, he is most famously known for serving in the Local Government ministry.
