Juliani opens up on friendship with late Bob Collymore

Rapper Julius Owino Popularly known as Juliani has for the first time disclosed details of his friendship with former Safaricom CEO, Bob Collymore.

Speaking on Upclose, the rapper said that late Collymore was like a big brother to him. He was that person who always assured him that things would be okay whenever he had doubts.

Unajua saa zingine ukifanya vitu wasee wanadhani umechizi but you need somebody to affirm your voice unaona. I look like I’m established and I know one or two things, but the truth of the matter, unahitaji msee ako juu yako kidogo akuambie uko sawa usijali. Ni noma lakini uko sawa. Hio ndio role aliplay big sana kwa life yangu,” said Juliani.

The Exponential Potential rapper also mentioned that the former Safaricom CEO’s death was heavy to him because he was the go-to person for him, anytime he was in trouble. He added that Collymore would help him without asking any questions.

Ni heavy. I was even thinking about it the other day nikisema sahii nikiwa kwa noma naweza pigia nani simu… juu huyo msee nikiwa kwa noma ilikuwa ni si utume thao hapo mpesa ikam…He was that kind of person hakuulizi maswali mob,” narrated Juliani.

The two (Juliani and Collymore) were known to be friends, but little was known about it, except for pictures that were on social media, and they worked on many projects together in Nairobi’s Dandora slum.

Juliani’s revelation comes months after the passing on of Bob Collymore. He passed on at his home in Nairobi, after a long battle with leukemia.

A statement by Safaricom chairman Nicholas Ng’ang’a said that Mr Collymore's condition had worsened in recent weeks.
