Kabogo’s rare move that surprised Kiambu residents during Waititu’s swearing-in ceremony
Kabogo left many surprised with his behavior during Waititu’s big day...
The higly- anticipated ceremony attended by political hotshots like George Muhoho, Cabinet Secretaries Joe Mucheru and Sicily Kariuki, Senator Kimani Wamatangi, MPs elect Jude Njomo of Kiambu, Patrick Wainaina of Thika town, Simon King’ara and other newly elected Kiambu county MPs.
Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo who infamously nicknamed Waititu 'Wakahare' meaning squirrel also attended the ceremony after conceding defeat.
But whatever happened in the past was clearly forgotten as the two hugged during the handing over ceremony.
Kabogo revealed that he had no hard feelings towards Waititu and urged residents to rally behind Waititu to ensure that his term is successful.
A rare act that left Kiambu residents surprised due to the support he showed his once fierce political rival.
“Today, I handed over the instruments of power to the incoming governor of Kiambu, Ferdinand Waititu. I ask everyone to support him and his new administration in moving Kiambu forward. #TujengeKiambu is for every one of us. God bless Kiambu, God bless Kenya. ” The outgoing Kiambu governor reiterated on social media after handing over the baton of leadership.
Waitutu, on the other hand, promised to work with people who worked under Kabogo to ensure that Kiambu ran smoothly.
