Exclusive: Radio Maisha's Mwende Macharia speaks on career switch to TV
In a post on social media, the presenter hinted at the big change “When God says He will do it, then He will do it! God I thank you for doing it! #TVHost #RadioHost #MamaChampion #QueenofTheAirwaves.”
And when we spoke to her she confirmed that she is joining TV soon but couldn’t divulge the details yet as the project was still in the works. “I am not ready to divulge any information yet as we are still in the process but I can reveal it’s in a new station in the market. More details about my new move will follow.” The ever-smiling presenter said.
She also addressed speculations that she would be leaving her radio Maisha show Konnect. “No. I’ll still be at Radio Maisha.” She said.
This is Mwende’s second stint at TV after she was dismissed as a co-host from KTN’s Gospel show ‘Tukuza’ over her pregnancy.
“I was still in my early 20s, and I had just launched my career as a TV co-host for KTN’s and Radio Maisha’s ‘Tukuza.’ Everyone considered me to be this straight, proper and saved girl.” She told SDE during an earlier interview. She also added that she had anticipated that this would happen. “Yes, not that I did not expect it. It was only fair that I pay for my sins and carry my cross without dragging the brand down. At the time, I felt like giving up on life. I even tried resigning, but thankfully, the company still had faith in me.” She said speaking on her sudden exit from ‘Tukuza’.
