Slay queens resort to plastic surgery to look like Snapchat filters
The condition occurs when a person suffers from obsessive thoughts on their appearance
If you are a Snapchat user, then you’re pretty aware of how filters can make you look.
Permanent
One in particular slims down your nose, and even gives you a more chiseled look— and now people want to achieve that permanently.
In the article written by doctors from Boston University School of Medicine’s department of dermatology, notes:
“This is an alarming trend because those filtered selfies often present an unattainable look and are blurring the line of reality and fantasy for these patients.”
Current generation
While people may find this to be extremely weird, achieving a perfect look and lifestyle is basically what this generation is all about.
Social media apps, such as Snapchat and Facetune, are providing a new reality of beauty for today’s society.
It can be argued that these apps are making us lose touch with reality because we expect to look perfectly primped and filtered in real life as well.
