Jubilee MPs collecting signatures to impeach Matiang'i - MP reveals

Trouble for Matiang'i- MP gives damning details

Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i

National Assembly Minority Leader John Mbadi claimed that two Jubilee MPs had been tasked by the Tanga Tanga team to collect signatures to impeach CS Fred Matiang'i.

The Suba South MP alleged that the plot by MPs allied to Deputy President William Ruto was hatched due to the ongoing scandal over fake gold.

According to Mbadi, the MPs are seeking to impeach Matiang’i for gross misconduct and abuse of office in relation to his alleged involvement in the saga.

The target of Ruto and his team is one Fred Matiang’i," the Suba South Member of Parliament said.

Tanga Tanga's hand

"I have information that two nondescript MPs–one from South Rift and another from Murang’a County have been tasked with the responsibility to draft impeachment motion against Fred Matiang’i for his removal from office,” he added.

Mbadi further alleged that Ruto and his allies have been feeling shortchanged and have blown the fake gold scam out of proportion to net CS Matiang’i.

According to Mbadi, the Ruto faction has been feeling frustrated by the Interior CS after his elevation to a position seemingly equivalent to Chief Minister.

Tanga Tanga's response

If they want Matiang'i out, their grounds must be solid because we will not support his removal on flimsy grounds. I can tell you we are going to resist any attempts to remove the CS,” he said during a Press conference.

However, Senate Majority leader Kipchumba Murkomen dismissed Mbadi's remarks alleging that it was a diversion for the real story.

Mbadi stop fake stories. Sheikh has said it’s either the gold or face the consequences advice your boss to take the threats seriously. Those are not people to joke with unless you don’t read current affairs,” Murkomen said.
