From his interview, here are three things the billionaire suggests you do to run a successful business. 1. Know everything about your business and industry According to Dangote, the first thing to do before going into any business is to understand the business. He said: “I think the most important one, number one if you are going into any business, you must understand the business from A to Z. You must know that business; you shouldn’t just invest because somebody says you know there’s money in cement then you go and jump into cement. “You need to understand the business in and out, and that’s the difference with me. I know my business in and out. You can wake me up anytime and ask me about fertilizer, anything that we are doing." 2. Work hard Dangote noted that the road to success is never smooth. Therefore, anyone who wants to own a successful business needs to work hard and persevere. He said: "You need to have tenacity or continuity. You will have some hiccups here and there, but you have to be focused on what you are doing.” 3. Be a calm manager He also advised that managers learn to remain calm even when things don’t go their way. He said: “I’m very quiet and I’m very calm.
